A young brown girl gets lost in the deserted Monumental Cemetery in Milan, Italy. She supposes to be there for her mother’s burial, but the disturbing encounter with a boaster soldier and his jealous lady dents her beliefs. The cemetery is supervised by the cynical Ivan and his young assistant, Luca. They have to provide “comprehension” to the lost souls taking them into the right grave, one of those with the gateway. Where do the gateways lead? Zoe, a postgraduating girl in Medieval Theology is working around the cemetery seeking the evidence of a striking theory.
